2 Siskin provided entertainment for the whole hour, 10 starlings briefly was more than usual, 6 house sparrows around average, 14 species overall pretty much as normal

Bird food of all sorts has been very popular in this garden this winter

Richard – that sounds great. I hope I get as good a showing tomorrow.

I managed to sort the tree sparrows from the house, and saw first goldfinches for the past year – can always rely on the starlings!

Gail – I’m expecting goldfinches tomorrow but one never knows…

In Central London this weekend. The cartoon sums it up remarkably accurately.

Two nuthatches, two coal tits and a wren were among the highlights in our garden this morning. Thirteen species in all – very happy with that!
A sparrowhawk overhead and next door’s cat kept things quiet for a while in the middle though…
    Good luck tomorrow Mark!

We counted10 species in all but the Fieldfare that has graced our garden all week failed to show at the appropriate time, nor did the Reed Bunting, GSW or Nuthatch show after their visits earlier in the week. Nevertheless it was an enjoyable experience for us all.

Lorraine – I’ll be pleased to get to 10 species.
