It’s the salty one

NATURALENGLAND2James Cross is the new Chief Exec of Natural England – he is the salty one.

This represents a victory of the politicians and Andrew Sells, the NE Chair, over the Defra civil servants. Quite right too.

But rumour has it that NE might have chosen a proper nature conservationist or two for their Board – surely some mistake there?

And now it’s more than a rumour

  1. Andy Clements eh? That’s a very interesting appointment, and hopefully will stymie any attempts to shift Buzzards onto the General Licence before anyone notices…

  2. Its the appointment of Julia Aglionby that frightens me. With Will Cockbain already on the board, I can’t see money for old rope and the sheep wreck of the Lakes ending any time soon. Lets hope the nature conservationists on the board help balance things out slightly.
