Just chilling

I don’t know what impression you get of me through reading this blog, but it isn’t all work you know. I am quite good at chilling.

Over the weekend I spent an evening with friends and family enjoying a barbecue on one of the cooler evenings of recent days – timing is everything.

I was quizzed about what Inglorious says about various issues (and may have got away with it), we talked about the successful tip from Springwatch about supplying wet mud that seemed to have enabled four pairs of House Martins to nest on the house where we met, a Hobby flew over and was a new bird for some of our party, we talked about a six-foot Hen Harrier called Henry, someone shared their delight at a recent sighting of a Song Thrush in their garden (the first for years) and we kept our eyes open for Tree Sparrows, but failed to see them.

Just chilling, but nature is always with us – if you are interested in it, and if you keep your ears and eyes open.

  1. I’m still not convinced that you chill that much. I was up early on Sunday Morning and sent you an email at 4:01 am you replied at 05:36? Do you ever sleep?

  2. Following a lunch of onion, tomato, chick pea and chili nasi goreng I stood in the sun and ate an excess of raspberries straight off the cane while wondering how many potted flyscrapers constitute a flock and why the currant harriers had not touched the redcurrants this year and why cherries always grow out of reach which is all more relaxing than trying to work while Dearly Beloved shouts at A Murray who is on the telly and is a “plonker”. Apparently.

  3. Nice to know you find time to relax as you certainly seem to get through a lot of work.
