Funding update – thank you!

775px-Swindon_&_Cricklade_Railway_..._DONATIONS_(5628115406)Thanks to your generosity we have raised £2500 for the campaign to ban driven grouse shooting.

Any further contributions would be very welcome – and it is likely that I will pass the hat around again later in the summer as we race towards the finishing line of 20 September. We aren’t, remember, even half way through our time yet.

Your generous contributions will be spent on promoting the e-petition through Facebook, some videos, posters and leaflets.  There are still lots of people out there who know nothing at all about our cause but who would happily sign up to it. Finding those people is the key to getting closer and closer to that 100,000 total.

Thank you again for all the ways that you have helped us get so far so fast.

And by that I mean that two years ago the idea that driven grouse shooting was incapable of being reformed and should simply be banned was entirely novel – now it’s the focus of a growing movement.  Thank you again for being part of that movement. It’s fun isn’t it? And it’s important too. And the message is spreading.

Your donation will be spent to publicise the campaign and e-petition to ban driven grouse shooting in the following ways:

  • design, printing and postage of posters to publicise the campaign.
  • design, printing and postage of cards to be delivered door-to-door or handed out at events.
  • boosting of the Ban Driven Grouse Shooting Facebook page

Thank you for your support.

  1. I said on RPUK that I’d dip my hand into my pocket to help fund an aircraft banner to fly over the grouse moors of the Angus Glens on the 12 August. It would read “where are our birds of prey?” or some such.

  2. Only £2500 in your begging bowl? My friends and I comfortably spend more than that on a day’s grouse shooting.

    You will never win.

    1. Oh dear Gideon. Your comment typifies the odiously arrogant, money talks mentality of your ilk. Sorry to burst your champagne bubbles squire but slowly but surely we are winning and ultimately ‘WE WILL WIN’. Losing an ally like the National Trust must smart a bit. They’re clearly not prepared to sell their soul for your grubby pound notes any longer. Tally-ho!!!

      1. Ignore it, it is just a troll there looking to get a rise out of you. And it isn’t a terribly subtle one either, I doubt it has ever even seen a grouse in its life.

    2. Gideon, would you be so kind as to define ‘win’ please?

I wonder what odds were offered against the NT doing the right thing in terms of public interest?

Another domino down, others will fall and the truth will be exposed for all to see, deep pockets can’t buy enough camouflage ….
