Kettering Hospital. Election Day – 47

Andy Sawford, the Labour Party candidate for the Corby and East Northants  by-election, is fighting hard for the local NHS.  Local residents fear that David Cameron’s Patrician Party  has plans to downgrade our local hospital – Kettering.

My two children were born in Kettering hospital and my father died there so I can say that it has been an important part of my life in east Northants over the last 26 years.

In contrast, the Patrician Party candidate, Chris Emmett, focuses on cleaner hospitals in her newsletter.  I’d like my hospitals to be clean too, but I’d like to be sure I’ve got one, and relatively nearby. I remember following an ambulance along the A14 when my father was taken into hospital (this was almost exactly 16 years ago) and thinking that although they don’t look very streamlined ambulances can go at a fair lick! I was pleased that the ambulance drivers travelled so fast but also that they didn’t have that far to travel.  My father was being looked after before I could park the car and get into the hospital.  That’s the type of NHS I want and the type of NHS that Labour is most likely to provide.

  1. Andy can’t do anything, He’s under the Labour party whip if he gets elected. He’ll have to do whatever central Labour command him to do, even if it involves the NHS in Kettering. Let me put it this way. His hands are tied behind his back the moment he gets elected and you will be let down I can give you a cast iron guarantee of it. The plan for the NHS is to downgrade it to such an extent that the private sector can take over, and both Labour, LibDem and your so called Patricians are complicit with this .Their strings have been pulled at the highest level and Andy can say what he likes. Andy’s hot air about Kettering General is just that . Hot Air. Get him to sign a contract stating that he will reverse the changes. I can bet you £2 that he won’t sign it. Get it drawn up and ask him to sign it. He’ll make as many excuses as he can saying that Labour central will have to review it this that and the other. He’ll pretend not to have a pen, he’ll say he’ll sign it later when hes had time to think about it. Try it and see in fact why don’t you video it.. I can’t wait for the Youtube of his vacillation on it. Even you a dyed in the wool Labour party member will see how fast he reverses back from a written contract.

I used to work in Kettering General. The place was dangerous then, God knows how it is now. It is hopelessly overstretched and understaffed. Some of the crash trolleys were not fully upto date and fully equipped, in the psychiatric wards.

Frankly if you elect Labour in to Corby you will not get what you want but then it will be too late, You’ll have to wait three years to get him out.

You know why I wouldn’t trust him? Because he is the son of an MP. They know how to lie with a straight face. In comparison I’m useless at doing that. I’d rather say I don’t know than lie.

The Tories are going to get the NHS demolished by 2015. There isnt anything that Andy and the Labour party can do about it because they are already signed upto it.

Wasn’t 1997-2010 enough? Did Labour in Corby and East Northants do anything to stop the rot? Not in Kettering General they didn’t I can tell you that from personal experience. I worked there from 2003-2004 Whilst it was under a Labour MP I see no difference now.

Of course you will say what can I do against this. Well at least I can circumvent things as much as possible because I will be independent of the Party Whips. I can represent the people rather than the party whip. Andy on the other hand will have to do what the party whip says, even if it means letting down his constituents. This is a fact. A three line whip telling him to do something has to be obeyed even if it is against the wishes of his constituents. Or if he has a conscience then he’ll be removed from party funding. Thats the kicker. He wont do that.
