UKIP. Election Day – 45

Do you trust David Cameron? is the question – and the answer must be a resounding No!

It’s actually a question asked by UKIP and its candidate Margot Parker – it’s a good question and the answer ‘No!’ is just about the only thing about which I am likely to agree with UKIP. Actually, not quite, as Nigel Farage is probably the most personable and amusing of all the party leaders.  He isn’t a ‘posh boy without a clue’ like Cameron and his shadow Clegg, and he is a touch more personable than Ed Miliband (for whom I voted in the Labour leadership election). However, an amusing party leader is not quite a good enough reason to vote fo UKIP.

UKIP says it is a non-racist party, but the fact that it has to say it shows that there must be some doubts that they are trying to assuage. Apparently around 600,000 people are settling in the UK every year – that’s ten times the population of Corby.  I’m surprised it’s so few! And I wish some of them were available to take my money to remove the asbestos roof from the shed at the bottom of the garden because I can’t find any of the 60 million ‘Brits’ who want to do it.

I know a bit about environmental issues and when I see quotes like this from UKIP’s Paul Nutter (I may have spelled that wrongly) then I know this is a party of misguided zealots for which I could never vote:

“I am looking forward to injecting a bit of realism into the sensationalist debate that goes on about environmental matters these days,” said the North West MEP.

“Now that the majority of people no longer support the EU, the pro-European politicians have cyincally jumped on the environmental bandwagon and are trying to us so-called man-made climate change as justification for their own existence.

“And this is despite the fact that the globe has actually showed a cooling trend since 2001.

“We are, of course, in favour of conserving the earth’s resources but the environment has become a political football with lobbyists in the background often throwing the ball.

“Inefficient wind turbines blighting our beauty spots and seascapes are a prime example of EU environmental nonsense.

I don’t trust David Cameron and I don’t trust UKIP either! I don’t totally trust the Labour Party, of which I am a member, either! But there is no doubt in my mind that Labour is the best bet for Corby and East Northants.

Vote for Andy Sawford!

  1. If you don’t totally trust the Labour party , may I ask very simply why they deserve your vote? If I didn’t trust someone or their party to deliver I wouldn’t vote for them. Blind faith has its limits. The only thing that politicians fear every five years is if they have been bad that the people who trusted them the last time won’t vote for them. Its the only time they are vulnerable. Don’t waste your vote on someone who will not even honour it by doing what you want in your area. You’ll not see him for dust.

What in 1997-2010 did Phil Hope actually do for you? This is actual actions. Actual promises met. You do realise the definition of Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
    Albert Einstein

Voting for Labour even after what they did to Britain in 1997-2010 is doing just that. Frankly voting for any big party with EU funding is asking for trouble and Labour, Conservative, LibDem, and UKIP have all taken the EU’s shilling.

Nikki Sinclaire left UKIP and is campaigning for a referendum. One wonders why she took such dramatic action. Was there a reason she didnt stay in UKIP? and why campaign separately? Something is most definitely wrong if she needs to do that.

Are you scared? that if Labour dont get in and neither do the LibDems, Tories or UKIP, that there might be changes ( for the good I would hope) Would you rather have more of the same crap every day? for the next three years on how Andy can’t do anything for you despite what he is promising now?.

I grew up in a solidly Labour constituency, Its been Labour since WW2 Do you know who the local MP is? Kevin Barron He does nothing in the area because he knows that the same sheep will vote him in time and time again. He’s got rich from it and he abuses it like every one else. he doesn’t even need to come out and dirty his feet and ask for votes.

Labour is the best bet? Really? How do you figure the odds of Andy doing anything he promises Tip 500-1 ( a bit like my odds on winning the constituency) False promises. So you would vote for someone you don’t totally trust to keep out someone you trust even less. Hurrah for common sense.

Frankly its a crock of ( insert rude words of choice here)

Last time around I voted for myself (A: because I could and B: because I was on the ballot paper and I trusted myself more than anyone else on the list)

Live a little . Give Labour a bloody nose and tell them that if they want your vote they are going to have to deliver and that this time you aren’t going to vote for them to teach them a lesson in humility
In fact why not say it to Andy and see the reaction on his face and in his eyes.

  2. “with lobbyists in the background often throwing the ball.”

I do find it hilarious and frightening that climate skeptics equate environmental lobbyists with any other lobbyist. Admittedly I make a living working on environmental matters but I don’t campaign in order to make more money. I’d be happier if I had to have another job and not worry so much. As if in some way environmental lobbyists are conspiring with limited funds and job security to convince everyone to take part in needless activities for our own ends. What part of their brains makes this leap? What possible gain could environmental groups hope to acheive other than a less awful future?

  3. To suggest that 60 million Brits are lazy is a disgraceful comment from a Labour politican, I think that you cannot get the asbestos removed from your shed because you do not want to pay the right price, I am going to pass your comments on to Jon Cruddas, the British working class have a genuine fear about the level of immigaration into the UK , a concern that we are trying to address and to suggest that we need more people because you cannot get your asbestos removed from your shed and to be little peoples concerns is a disgrace

    • kev- hello. I’m not a Labour politician. I didn’t say that 60 million Brits are lazy. Aside from that – good comment, thank you.

  4. How many immigrants does it take legal or illegal to enter the UK before you can get the asbestos removed from your shed then, have our people become reliant upon benifits or are they not prepared to work ? what is your opinion

  5. It’s approx £20 SM to have the asbestos removed from your shed roof or a minimum charge of £150 , that is due to the fact that you need 2 operatives and the waste has to be managed or you can get 2 un trained people and Fly Tip for £50 , so I have done the math’s for you and worked out the budget

So tell us all how you struggle to give your money away , who have you had quotes from

Kier Hardie spins in his grave at the likes of you

    • Kev – thanks for all your help on this. Any of the candidates who can remove the asbestos rood from my shed might get my vote. I’ve had two local builders say they would do this work but one never came up with a quote and the other agreed a quote with me but then disappeared off the Earth and never arranged the H&S visit. Thanks for asking. That may well be enough about my shed roof as it may not be the biggest electoral issue in this by-election.

  6. It’s not about your shed roof, it is my way of showing to you and if anyone else is reading this ,the stupid way in which you have belittled people’s concern’s about immigration and how they are causing a lot of damage to the labour party and it’s attempts to reconnect with the British working class.

Accept that you are wrong and apoligise to the millions of British unemployed, after all if Milliband and Crudas can except that Cheap Labour got it wrong I am sure that you can

Google an Assy removal firm , VOTE UKIP

    • Kev – you are so convincing. I will never vote UKIP. And gosh! I wonder whether I ever thought of googling asbestos…

      • I doubt you ever thought of googling asbestos because I doubt you have a shed roof and I cannot workout how you cannot find anyone out of 60 Million to do the work

I have passed your comments on and hopefully they will show how you and your Cheap labour party members hold the concerns of the British working class in contempt

  7. Mark

Take the blinkers off, the old ways of the Right & Left are gone it is only about what’s right & wrong and UKIP for all it’s flaws are a much better bet than the others

Leave the ideologly in the past look to the future , we stand for all our People , the days of the old gangs are over so why give them money ! they only waste it trade with the whole world with no restrications

UKIP are Libertarian and Demorcratic as well as being in the Common sense market, far more than the others , have a read and leave the old nonsense in the past

These are my opinons and I respect yours but please do not put my people down again

    Kev

    • Kev – thanks for the advice. They are not your people, they are our people. I did not put them down and UKIP will never get my vote. best wishes
