The Qote does have the hint of a parallel with Brextiers.
However Adlai Stevenson was a thoroughly moderate, decent, outward looking American politician who work closely with JFK when John F. Kennedy was president. There could not be a bigger contrast between Adler Stevenson and the present person in the White House.
