Oscar Dewhurst – Puffin

Scotland July 2013_0101-Puffin

Oscar writesA couple of summers ago I was on holiday in Scotland, and managed to get to the Isle of May, an island which harbours a large seabird colony, for a couple of days. You only get a few hours on the island, so after I’d spent some time photographing the Arctic Terns, which I’d never seen before, I headed to the far sideof the island to photograph these Puffins flying back to their burrows from fishing trips out at sea. From where I was standing, they would fly below my eye level, giving a different perspective on them. They fly so quick though, so for every sharp photo there are several more blurs!
