Update on Gavin Gamble’s e-petition

Yesterday another eight Westminster constituencies joined the ‘100 signatures’ club taking the total past 100 to 102 constituencies.

And the last 24 hours delivered 600 signatures in total – a very good day.  The total is now 43,886 signatures in favour of banning driven grouse shooting.

Another 38 constituencies are in the 90s and many look poised to join the ‘100 signatures’ club before midnight on Monday. Well, I assume it is midnight on Monday rather than midnight on Sunday! It makes quite a bit of difference whether there are two days remaining or three days – a difference to the total and therefore a difference to those who guessed what the final total would be (see at foot of this post for details).

Here are the constituencies which have at least 100 signatures with those 8 which are yesterday’s additions not emboldened and at the ens of the list. There then follows a list of cosntituencies in the 90s and then the league table of your guesses.

How about emailing your friends, even if you don’t have many, and asking them to consider signing Gavin Gamble’s e-petition calling on governments to ban driven grouse shooting.

If I were Jonathan I’d be pretty hopeful of winning this little competition. He commands the region of 44,372-46395 signatures and that looks like a pretty good bet. Odds on I would say. Even if the site closes tomorrow at midnight (which is possible but which I doubt) then these next two days have to be scoring at under 250 signatures a day for Adrian to scoop the prize, whereas even if there are three days remaining, the signatures would have to roll in at 800+ each day (possible, but a sttretch) for Jonathan to lose out to Paul F.  We’ll see!

Please ask a friend or relative today to sign Gavin Gamble’s e-petition to ban driven grouse shooting Thank you!
