Henry occupies the butts

Fri 15 May Copy

Henry is looking forward to Hen Harrier Day on 9 August.  He keeps coming up with good ideas about it. Birders Against Wildlife Crime are working away to organise at least one event, and other people want to do their own thing too.

If you were in Buxton on the evening of 8 August there might be an event to attend ahead of Hen Harrier day on 9 August. Why not make a weekend of it? Henry says it isn’t going to rain, at all, or at least not much!

Henry has been standing in grouse butts across the north of England. He seems to think that he is highlighting the ridiculous nature of grouse shooting by doing this.

Henry and i have been chatting as we travel the country, and Henry has been chatting to others too on his visits, and he’s pretty clear in his mind that driven grouse shooting is anti-social because of its effects on protected raptors and other protected species, water quality, flood risk, greenhouse gas emissions and protected peat bogs.  Henry is waiting to launch an e-petition to ban driven grouse shooting.

#HaveYouSeenHenry?

Note from Mark: At the moment, comments on this blog aren’t being displayed. I see them – but you don’t. I’m trying to sort this out but it may take a while as I have other things to do, too! Sorry.
