Oscar Dewhurst – Spotted Flycatcher

Oscar writes: this Spotted Flycatcher turned up one day at Minsmere over the Spring in the bushes behind East Hide. I don’t see them much down at home in London so was pleased to be able to get a few images of one here. It was catching flies in the scrub and fortunately this was one of the branches it would repeatedly perch on as it was where I could get a clean background!

It’s now much more a bird of the west than of the east.

  1. We saw a few in the woods at Goyt today as we walked from the car park to the quarry 🙂

  2. Lovely birds. We saw a few on Saturday at Miller’s Dale where we walked before driving into Buxton. I hope they keep on turning up at Sandy too.
