Well, this will please the Countryside Alliance! And the NFU. And the CLA. And the Moorland Association.

Kerry McCarthy is a vice-President of the League Against Cruel Sports and a vegan too.

Ms McCarthy spoke at the Rally for Nature last year.

A copy of Inglorious is in the post to her.

I wonder whether she would be in favour of a ban on driven grouse shooting.

  1. I can’t help feeling that she may already have a copy …. I’d love to be a fly on the wall if she ever has a meeting with Shooters-R-Us (aka the CA)

  2. “Well, this will please the Countryside Alliance! And the NFU. And the CLA. And the Moorland Association”

More than pleased. Positively euphoric I’d say.

It feels strange to be in agreement with Rupert Murdoch, but he’s right to ask: “How did Cameron get this lucky?”

    1. I don’t know. They’re burning a lot of matches at the moment. What this opposition will do that the previous one didn’t is to oppose, and lets face it the Tory party of CAmeron and Osborne is not used to opposition.

  3. Excellent choice, those people and animal poisoners will probably get a queasy feeling in their stomachs at some point in the next few days, if they haven’t already when they realise their game is nearly up! For all the bravado in the world, Ernest Moss, that worm will be chewing away…….it could happen.

  4. it’ll make a nice change from having an Environment Secretary with a track record of trashing the environment. All we need now is to get Labour elected in five years time…

  5. I think the most interesting appointment wasn’t Macarthy – but John McDonnell.

This is a man that praised the Provisional IRA as ‘heroes’ that bombed Ireland to peace.

In spite of all the bluster – does anyone on here actually support terrorism?

  6. Looking forward to hearing new shadow environment on Farming today one morning next week. (they didn’t seem to know which day when announcing it this morning)
