Big Match Fortnight for World Land Trust

logoI’m on the Council of the excellent World Land Trust and I’d like to ask you to support them with a donation in the next two weeks.

During Big Match Fortnight (1-15 October) any money you and I donate will be matched by kind donors up to a limit of £250,000 – so ‘our’ £250k turns into £500k – simples!

You weren’t at the Council meeting last week where Lou Jost of Fundacion EcoMinga gave a brilliant and moving presentation to us about the work he and his team are doing, how the World Land Trust is helping, and how so much more can be done with a bit more investment – but I was!  And I’m telling you that this is a really, really good cause and I’ll be supporting it and I’m glad that my few quid will be doubled.

Orchids (some only recently discovered Teaguiea species), Spectacled Bears, Black-and-chestnut Eagles and a host of cute amphibians will be helped if we can secure 2000 acres of rainforest to form a corridor between the north and south Andes. We’re calling it a Sky Corridor because it’s up in the clouds and will join the Llanganates National Park with the Sangay National Park.

Why not stump up some cash now – please? But I’ll remind you a couple of times in the fortnight.
