Guardian gets it right

Experienced journalist John Vidal calls it right in the Guardian on the attacks on Chris Packham by YFTB.

Adding to the shooters’ pain is a parliamentary e-petition that has more than 89,000 signatures calling for an end to the sport. Not since foxhunting with dogs was threatened with legislation in the 1990s has a country sport felt so besieged.

That’s us that is! Very nearly 100,000 of us! 94000 and counting.

  1. Sorry Phil but I just had to chuckle …. RSPB (quote) talking about people knowing about the campaign. Is that the source of the stampede of signatures, the great bustard has lifted its head?

Hard work, for sure but they are really helpful – must be the toxic game they eat, it affects their playing?

  2. I’ve no wish to compete with Jim, but the petition gained some 3,032 signatures in the four hours between 15:46 and 19:46.

A fraction over four hours to midnight and this period of an evening has generated serious support ….

So, could it be a “Conservation, glorious twelfth”?

  3. I wish that Chris had asked Botham to reveal who he was working for? Who really are the shadowy paymasters of YFTB?
