Has your MP not replied yet? Firm Briefing 15

799px-Houses.of_.parliament.overall.arp_I am getting an increasing number of emails from people saying that they emailed their MP weeks ago and have not yet received anything other than the automated reply (which shows that it did arrive!).

Please let me know if your MP has not replied to your letter about driven grouse shooting and we will name and shame them next week.

Please email me at [email protected] with details of your MP and when you contacted them.

  1. My (Conservative) MP hasn’t replied yet – but I only emailed him a week or so ago, so wouldn’t expect a reply yet. He is without fail courteous, so I certainly expect him to respond even if it’s with a line he’s been sent. Looking forward to it when it comes, especially to seeing the effect of firm briefing!

  2. Would it be worth folk who haven’t had a reply putting a letter in their local paper to the effect ‘ Do people find our MP replies to their e-mails/letters? I really would like a reply to mine!’ It would reach more of that MP’s constituents.

    1. Mairi, my (Labour) MP is usually very responsive, but I’ve just sent her a second message as, though she wrote me the standard Labour response on Sep 1, she’s not yet said she’s attending the evidence hearing.

Certainly, letters to the local press are a good idea.

And The Big Issue – the northern version printed my letter on the subject – and has covered the subject in features.

      Worth trying other regions’ BI?
