Seats I’ll be watching

I’m a Labour voter (and with more enthusiasm this election than in some) but I’ll be looking out for the result in particular constituencies as well as the overall result. Here are some of the constituencies that will make or break my day:

  • Brighton Pavilion – a win for Caroline Lucas will please me
  • Bristol East – Kerry McCarthy is a good advocate for the environment
  • Calder Valley – a win for Josh Fenton-Glynn and a loss for Craig Whittaker would put a big smile on my face
  • Corby – my own constituency, a win for Beth Miller is what I want.
  • High Peak – a win for Ruth George and a defeat for Andrew Bingham would make me smile
  • North Norfolk – I’d like Norman Lamb to keep his seat
  • Penistone and Stocksbridge – Angela Smith should, surely, keep her seat
  • Rushcliffe – I have struggled to name a Conservative here but we all have a soft spot for Ken Clarke
  • Sheffield Central – a win for Natalie Bennett would be excellent news
  • Sheffield Hallam – Nick Clegg seems to have come into his own in the media this election, I’d like him to keep his seat

How many of these 10 wishes will come true?
