Gill Lewis says ‘Ban driven grouse shooting’

Author, Gill Lewis says:

Driven grouse shooting is underpinned by wildlife crime. An archaic vestige from the Victorian era, it belongs firmly in the past. It has perpetuated the persecution of birds of prey and has prevented the restoration of natural ecosystems through intensive land management. The Hen Harrier is an iconic symbol for the health and biodiversity of our uplands. We owe future generations our commitment to re-wild our devastated landscapes, not only for improved carbon capture, clean water and clean air, but also for our physical, mental and spiritual health. We owe this to our children. We owe them the chance to be spellbound by the wild world and to see Hen Harriers in our skies once again.
