Fair Game?

The Game Fair is limping along still.  It seems to have settled at Ragley Hall, Warwickshire.  This year’s dates are 27-29 July, that’s just over three weeks away.

Here are a few of the events where the shooting community tells itself how wonderful it is and how everyone is on its side provided they all stick together against the leftie veggies who live in towns, or something like that.

I used to enjoy the Game Fair but these days I rate it in rather the same way as Dr Johnson rated the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland – ‘worthy seeing, but not worth going to see’ so I doubt that I’ll be attending.

I’d love a report on it from anyone who does attend and these events look like they have plenty of potential for amusement.

  1. The following weekend Countryfile Live is held at Blenheim Palace. This used to be the venue for the Game Fair but was losing it’s attraction. However many of the “Game Sport” organisations will have a presence and quite a high profile. We’ll be “helping” on the RSPB stand and quite a lot of our tweedy friends will drop by for a chat!

  2. don’t forget that in Scotland there is also the #moygames and how popular that seems to be with Fergus Ewing MSP. Despite the fact that intensive Driven Grouse Shooting, is an industry that is associated with the ongoing persecution & killing of native of native wildlife and environmental damage in our uplands of Scotland.

Indeed it would be good if there was some movement by the Scot Government to stop this persecution and damage to our countryside #Ravens #raptors #MountainHares etc etc . Still waiting for action despite widespread awareness of killing & unjustified culling of native wildlife.

  3. I’m sure the above events will be well-balanced and thrash out both sides of the argument.

I’m sure there’s a pig flying event, too.
