Bowland Gull Cull 21

Many thanks to the reader of this blog who pointed me in this direction (click here) where we find this table…

…which goes back as far as 2012 but only appears to have 12 cases in it, but the two at the end of the list are as follows;

So, Bowland is in the news quite a lot at the moment.  The Duke of Westminster owns the Abbeystead Estate (which has had no successful Hen Harrier nests this year, nor for quite a few years actually) but is right next to the United Utilities land where there were three successful pairs of Hen Harrier this year and is also neighbouring the Bleasdale Estate (where no Hen Harriers nested this year) but which is in the news for other reasons today.

  1. I guess this estate along with Bleasdale won’t be getting accredition from the British Game Alliance then?

  2. And there’s the problem in a nutshell. What police force, politician (Labour included) or court is going to go up against such a person.
    Doff yer cap and turn a blind eye.
    Yes this was ever the case but with each generation that passes, the few that control us and our countryside, get fewer.

    We need to break this loop.
