Election watch (17) – High Peak

The YouGov poll of about a week ago put the High Peak seat into the category of ‘tossup’ which I take to be a comment on the difficulty of predicting the winner. This is hardly surprising since it was a somewhat unexpected Labour gain last time around.

Because I have a soft spot for the Peak District, developed over the last 5-6 years (to be honest I never paid it much attention before then), I would love to see Ruth George keep her seat for Labour.

So I had a quick look at this website which talks about various apparently unsavoury events in the area and has this quite amazingly strong statement;

Mr Largan has spent much of his time in High Peak making false and defamatory allegations about Ruth George.

Mr Largan is the Conservative candidate for High Peak. Things are clearly getting serious in this part of the world…
