  1. Completely off piste but got a Spotted Dove at the second test this morning. Otherwise, very disappointing birding.

      1. Yes, many. To bothered about the players at all. Only other birds today was a flash of of another hirundine and lots of house crows getting in the way.
Anderson, 6-40. Now that is something to rub your knees over!

  2. Another quite day brightened by a Water Monitor appearing on the boundary just after Butler had called for a drink!
Earlier as Root reached his Nelson there was a wader in the background. Very blurry but may have been a Red Wattled Lapwing.
    Was it mentioned on TMS?
Good job nobody else is reading this now.

    1. Paul – the monitor was discussed at some length. Tufnel was a bit scared if the four foot reptile (despite being at The Oval). Quite a lot about Red Foxes at The Oval too. But I heard no mention of a lapwing.
