Mark writes:  I heard Bearded Tits at Cley last Sunday but I didn’t see them. And even if I had I wouldn’t have seen them as well as this.

Oscar photographed this female in Hyde Park in February 2013.  There were two of them there – both had been ringed in 2012 at Rye Meads, Herts.

  1. Super photo. I have only ever ringed one – a male in breeding plumage. That was magnificent to hold in the hand. Colours as intense as a box of pastels. Well done Oscar.

  2. We see a bunch one day and completely surprised us as we walked along a boardwalk at RSPB Radipole,we were going towards a hide there and turned a slight corner when we saw them on the boardwalk then they went into rushes and stayed there several minutes.

  3. Great shot indeed! The reward for patience, skill with his equipment and a fair bit of field craft one imagines. Fair play.
