Henry finds a friend

Thurs 23 April Copy

Is that a very large Hen Harrier or a very small Richard Porter? It’s both!

Henry knew that he’d get a nice cup of tea chez Porter (and he also got some nice chocolate cake too). I know, it’s not exactly a mate for life, but it’s good to have cake now and again to liven up your diet of voles.

Richard, as one of the authors of the classic Flight Identification of European Raptors, might be expected to recognise a fine figure of a male Hen Harrier – but he looks a bit bemused, doesn’t he?

Henry is quite accustomed to dealing with small mammals too!

Vote for Hen Harrier as our national bird.

  1. Richard seems bemused only because Henry’s not in flight. If Henry jumped out of an upstairs window then his flight identification expertise would swing into action 🙂
