Last chance at the EU nature directives consultation saloon

Flag_of_Europe.svgYou only have today to respond to the very important consultation on the future of the EU Nature Directives.

There have been 470,000 responses online –  a record for this type of EU consultation (94,000 from the UK – who says we aren’t good Europeans?!).

You will have a local nature site which is protected by these directives and it would be good to send a message to member state governments, including our own, that the nature directives are very important and are valued by Europeans.

A very impressive coalition of wildlife and environmental ngos has made this easy for you to do – click here and add your voice, please.

  1. Thanks Mark. Between you and Graham Hirons, who also reminded me, I have finally been stirred into action. I’m a bit choosy about what to support given the plethora of requests these days, but my experience when working at BirdLife quickly convinced me of the importance of the Directives. Anyway, done. I decided in the event to do so via the EU website (interesting, in a positive way), having downloaded the 88 page response by RSPB and others. This looks impressively researched, but is probably not going to be light bedtime reading.
