National Wildlife Crime Unit

This small unit is far from perfect: despite all the plaudits given to it, it has been ineffective in addressing most domestic wildlife crime.

Still, we’d be worse off without it than we are with it (and it has a tiny budget). So please sign this e-petition and tell your MP that you have signed it (almost more important than signing it in my humble opinion).

  1. Oh right, crime, sorry, I thought the small eunuch in question was Natural England. Everything else seemed to fit. Shame on us for letting it get to this point.

Actually, when 38 Degrees was yet to be born, I seem to recall signing a petition to retain local police wildlife crime officers, rather than having everthing shunted up to some ‘central’ office in Scotland. That was a decade or so ago though. Not a surprise that it could have done rather better, especially on such a dwindled budget, Still no excuse to do anything but clamour for its retention and to point ot that with more it could achieve much more.

Oh, and the same goes for Natural England of course, however much it gets ground down.
