M&S and grouse meat – Mark Avery

There are various ways of contacting M&S which in theory might elucidate their plans for selling Red Grouse meat this coming year.

The easiest is probably their live chat service which is where I started – and helpfully they send you an email of what was ‘said’.

So, guess what? I phoned 0333 014 8555 and asked whether M&S intend to sell Red Grouse meat in any of their stores this year.

The person at the end of the phone said there wasn’t any information on whether they would or they wouldn’t sell grouse meat. I asked whether they intended to sell grouse meat. She said there was no information on whether they would sell grouse meat.

I said I was asking about whether they intended to sell grouse meat.

She said there was no information on whether they would sell grouse meat.

We went around that loop a few times (cf Paxman and Michael Howard).

Then I asked whether she intended to have dinner tonight…or was she going to say there was no information on whether she was going to have dinner tonight.

She suggested I might like to phone back nearer the time and I asked when she would suggest and she couldn’t really suggest a time.

I asked whether she could put me in touch with anyone else who could actually answer my question and she said she couldn’t.

I’ll phone M&S back, not every day, but obviously I don’t know when they will know whether they intend to sell Red Grouse meat in their stores so I’ll just have to keep asking. If any of you were to get more of an answer then I’d be interested to hear from you.
