Natalie Bennett says ‘Ban driven grouse shooting’

Natalie Bennett is a Green Party politician, and says;

I first learnt about the damage driven grouse shooting moors were doing to their neighbours with disastrous land management practices after the 2015/16 floods. And I found out about the carbon emission impacts of their activities.

Then I learnt about the plight of the hen harriers and other raptors, illegally persecuted on and around the moors, and about all of the other animals, from mountain hares to corvids, foxes to mustelids, slaughtered en masse in the interests of maximum red grouse numbers available for shooting on the Inglorious Tweltfh and afterwards.

We cannot allow our uplands to be abused in this way – for the future of people and planet we need to ensure all of our land is managed well. I’d ask you to sign the petition calling for a ban on driven grouse shooting.

To join Natalie Bennett, please sign Gavin Gamble’s e-petition which calls for a ban on driven grouse shooting.

Signature count – 44,447 this morning following another 500+ signature day, yesterday. And now past 45,000 and has added 700 signatures this morning.  Top-trending petition on petitions site.
