In the May local elections the Torys were kicked out by a LibDem/Green coalition. They decided the housing policy was too large a development for the district and decided to scrap and rejig the plans. 24hrs before the debate, Robert Jenrick, Housing and Local Government Secretary, gagged the debate and refused the Council permission to even discuss changing the plan. Democracy? What a joke!
