Wild hacking…?

SNH has so far failed to produce the review of wild hacking that they promised for last week – and ahead of finalising any licensing decision.

I understand that there is activity around the hacking boxes in Moray – almost as if the licence applicants were expecting to get the go-ahead soon…

Lockdown requirements in Scotland are still more stringent than in England.

SNH hasn’t yet completed a review of what happened in June-August last year? Really?

  1. Anyone know if there are any legal protections for these birds?

    1. Given that they will be closed ringed which will clearly identify the owners they will I assume be protected under the Scottish Law equivalent of the Theft Act.

  2. Stuart - not at all clear what the status of these birds is. Many are reportedly hybids.
