It’s a funny spring – but then, they often are.
, via Wikimedia Commons”]As you know, if you are a regular reader, I’ve seen bee flies and primroses and a swallow three weeks ago at Cheltenham, and I’ve heard plenty of chiffchaffs but it feels like a stuttering spring to me. I heard a willow warbler last weekend and there have been a few blackcaps around but even the butterflies seem to come and go in this weather.
The weather forecast for the Easter weekend looks a bit patchy so who knows what it will bring. But that’s why this time of year is exciting – who knows what each day will bring? Will spring advance or stand still? And will the signs of spring come in a torrent or a dribble?
We’ll see. And I hope that you get out and see some spring this Easter weekend too.

Well…. the Easter weekend may have been a bit cool and damp but Good Friday was good enough to bring out the first male Emperor moths during the warm sunshine in the morning. Lovely to see…
Doug – I don’t ‘do’ moths yet, but maybe one day I will – sounds good!
