A little while after 1430 this afternoon, John Squire Armitage’s epetition on licensing of grouse moors passed 10,000 signatures. This means that Defra will have to write a response to it.
John is to be congratulated on this highly successful e-petition – few do this well.
This e-petition is open for another 160 hours or so – until next Wednesday morning, so if you are a UK resident and have not signed the e-petition yet, and you think that it would help (I do!), then please sign now.
More on this at a later date!

Congratulations John and well done Mark for all your plugs for this petition.
Brilliant news. Well done John.
It’s taken long enough for Defra to take any meaningful action on grouse moors. Let’s see what they make of this.
Chrissie Harper passed the 10,000. Did you congratulate her!
John – yes, I did.

Yesterday [21st] The Barn owl Trust reached 107,000 signatures https://secure.avaaz.org/en/petition/To_Mike_Penning_MP_and_the_Health_and_Safety_Executive_Save_Britains_Barn_Owls/?bkUKbdb&v=36302
Interesting that such a bird has 10 times the vote of the Hen Harrier or is it how the campaigne was run!
