Oscar Dewhurst – Little Egret

France August 2013-Somme_0058-Little-Egret

Oscar writes: While in France last summer I spent a day at a nature reserve on the Somme Estuary. From one of the hides this Little Egret was fishing. It took a few attempts to get the right timing with the end, but eventually I got there.

Mark writes: I had a walk this morning and saw a couple of Little Egrets at my local patch of Stanwick Lakes.  they are now a commonplace sight. But they are still very beautiful.

  1. Ok I’m getting used to some of the adverts at the side of your blog, but “Alaska Super Slam Hunting” online gameplay, what next “NORTHERN UPLANDS HEN HARRIER NEST DESTROYER”?

    1. The advertising displayed seems to depend partly on where you have previously been browsing. For example after seeing your post I experimentally searched for a canon camera and lo and behold on returning to this site an hour or so later the sidebar was filled with an advert for canon cameras.
It is ‘intelligent’ but not that intelligent and in your case perhaps it has added two and two together on the basis of your recent browsing and come up with five. Some of the advertising seems to be entirely random though so it is also possible that your Alaska Super Slam falls into that category.
