Ralph writes: “Consumer choice is too often only an option for those that can afford it (often a small proportion of sales, while buying better products is undoubtedly a good thing to do far too much emphasis is placed on the consumers role as a vehicle of change. Real environmental improvements will only come from regulating the activities of companies to ensure a fairere and more sustainable supply chain”

Not many comments under this as it’s just a little too close to home. Not quite the cache of bashing those with cash on distant moors.

As I – and you in your Janus moment – always bang on, the impact of our consumption outweighs any man with a gun.

    1. I’ll happily comment……..
Humans are the most destructive animals that have ever walked this small planet. The vast majority of us are now too greedy to care about the consequences of our own actions (although a few pop their head above the parapet now and then), let alone the actions of others!
If we look closer to home, this country has over the last 30 years, become a more selfish group of individuals. I would love to say ‘Society’, but I fear we are no longer one.
Our motto seems to be, breed like rabbits, consume as much as one can, and sod future generations!
