Henry called in at Geltsdale a while ago – he said he thought that he was the only grey male in the village. I don’t know quite what he was on about.
Here is Henry looking intently at the interpretation boards in the car park. He also met a very cheery postman and some not-so-cheery wardens who were missing their male Hen Harrier. We heard that it was a good year for quite a lot of other species at Geltsdale – but that’s really up to the RSPB to publicise.
I like Geltsdale – I’d like it even more if its male Hen Harriers didn’t go missing. Geltsdale was, quite some time ago, a dangerous place for Hen Harriers. One year poison baits were found on the boundary fence. Another year…oh, that can all wait until you buy Inglorious at the end of July!
