Water Matters is the other document launched by WCL at yesterday’s event in Parliament (click here for agriculture vision). I liked it a lot; it’s punchy. I like punchy!
The Blueprint for Water partnership (which includes many of the usual suspects and also Salmon and Trout Conservation UK (note change of name), the Institute of Fisheries Management and Waterwise) are calling for government and industry to ensure that, by 2021 (which isn’t that far away) we:
- Use water wisely
- Stop pollution in our waters
- Manage floods for people and wildlife
- Create, protect and restore places for wildlife
- Join up water management
This is a document full of facts (well I assume they are facts) and good suggestions for the way forward.
It’s a great advocacy document because you really would read it on the train on the way home after being given it, you would understand it, you would be challenged by it and you would be perfectly clear about what this coalition of organisations thought should be done.
Rather than me bang on about it, why don’t you read it?
