22,399 signatures

A strange-looking milestone perhaps…

But last year this was the number of signatures gathered by my (our) previous e-petition to ban driven grouse shooting. That one was launched in late May 2014 and lasted until the beginning of the general election campaign in late March 2015.

This year we have reached the same milestone, not in 10.5 months, not in 9 months, not even in 6 months, but in less than 3 months.  That’s what progress looks like.

Thank you to all who have signed – now find a friend to sign too please!

Thank you to all who have promoted the e-petition in various ways: Chris Packham, Birdwatch magazine, RareBirdAlert, British Birds, RaptorPersecution Scotland, Raptor Politics, Mithering Antis (!), League Against Cruel Sports, Natalie Bennett and others in the Green Party of England and Wales, my publisher Bloomsbury and Moving Mountains Nature Network.

And thank you to all those individuals who have tweeted, facebooked and written – and who have given me all sorts of support – thank you so much.

But we still aren’t half way in time with this one yet!

Please get your friends and family, and people at the bus stop, and colleagues at work to sign this e-petition so that the problems caused by driven grouse shooting are discussed in parliament.
