Half way to 21 January

41dtDGw5TtL._SX309_BO1,204,203,200_Our e-petition to ban driven grouse shooting is today half way through its six-month life. It closes on 21 January.

My fear when starting it off in July was that it might fail, in the six months now allowed, to pass the total we reached in over 10 months last year. But I should have had more faith in you all, in the strength of the argument, and in myself I guess. Thank you to all who have signed the e-petition and have promoted it – I’m moved by what so many people have done, together.

It seems very unlikely that we will reach 100,000 signatures in the next three months – but there are some things in the pipeline that will take us a lot closer than we are now.

I’ll be very happy if we get over the 30,000 signatures mark.

Please sign this e-petition to get a debate in parliament on the future of driven grouse shooting.

  1. Have a word with the RSPB to see if they can urge some of their more than one million members to vote, it may be enough to swell the petition to over the 100,000 mark needed to be discussed seriously in parliament.

  2. One of the people who tweets for the RSPB as the official Nature’s Voice account ‘accidentally’ tweeted a link to the petition earlier this week. It was gone again within seconds! Classic multiple accounts via tweetdeck problem, I should think….
