You are all amazing – thank you for such support for this e-petition to create a better future for our uplands and their wildlife and people.
25,000 signatures in less than four weeks – how amazing is that?
On the very first of these e-petitions we reached 22,399 signatures in over 10 months. I thought that was pretty good.
On the second of these e-petitions we reached 25,000 signatures after over four months – even better!
But this time we have reached 25,000 signatures in under four weeks, not months.
Thank you to everyone who has helped with social media and with all sorts of support. Many thanks to the co-sponsors of this e-petition: Chris Packham, Bill Oddie and Eduardo de Goncalves (CEO of the League Against Cruel Sports).

The petition that never sleeps. I dozed off at the back of twelve last night when the signatures were edging towards 24,200. When I woke at 6 o’clock and took a quick look it had went to 24,415 – so there had been more than 200 signatures during the night! That’s extraordinary. Pace will slow, but as it’s coming down from a very high peak there will still be a hell of a lot more signatures to come in from LACS’ efforts. Strange, but wonderful what is primarily an animal welfare body has struck a great blow for conservation. Greenpeace, RSPB, Wildlife Trusts come on!
