I spent four days abroad last week – birdwatching, drinking red wine, eating oysters and having a great time with friends.
Where might I have been? Here are a series of teasing clues, I hope, to get you thinking. Answer at 1800.
Clue 7: there was a passage of Black Kites, Buzzards, Osprey and Marsh Harriers but we didn’t see any Booted Eagles (though we looked) which is a shame as they always remind me, the pale phase birds, of a pint of Guinness: creamy pale and black (as above).

Spain – say Tarifa?
I thought the same as you.
Andalucia?
Dunno. Never seen any of these birds.
Greek Cyprus on the basis that the Iberian spots are too obvious. But that could be double bluff.
How about Malta?
Changing the subject for a brief moment; High Peak joins the 100 Club piping Skipton and Ripon which joined shortly after. So 8 over the ton now with Totnes (95), or West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine (93), looking good for the next.
As for the Booted Eagle; anywhere between Drift Reservoir, Cornwall and North Ronaldsay, Orkney but the BOU still won’t let you have it!
How your constituency doing? The average is now 40.4 signatures.
Majorca
In other news the petition has passed 26K and Skipton & Ripon, Brighton Pav and High Peak have all reached the ton…
Only 3 constituencies in England are still below 10 signatures, all Labour held and inner city; Barking (9), Edmonton (5), and Leicester East (3). The only other sub-10 constituencies are all in Northern Ireland; Belfast West (8) – Sinn Fein, West Tyrone (5) – Sinn Fein, Mid-Ulster (5) – Sinn Fein, Fermanagh and South Tyrone (5) – Ulster Unionist Party, Newry and Armagh (2) – Sinn Fein
