Readers of this blog, and its author, are keen on rewilding (below)…
…and not very keen on grouse shooting….
These two things are not completely interdependent of course, but less land given over to intensive grouse shooting would allow more chance of rewilding of our uplands. I’ll be writing more about this next week. But if you are in favour of rewilding and can see the link, then please sign this e-petition to ban driven grouse shooting.
Tomorrow we will find out the results of the EU referendum but I am pleased to say that the day on this blog will start with a Guest Blog by Terry Pickford who has had more involvement with raptors and grouse moors than most people.

We need to get to 100,000 signatures, otherwise we’ll just be fobbed off again with a letter. Should a concerted attempt be made at Birdfair to reach this figure. I’m thinking of an ‘army’ of volunteers armed with laptops, tablets, smartphones who could encourage the visitors to sign the petition. I’m sure members of BAWC, LACS and others would be willing to help. I would willingly join a rota. What do you think, Mark?
