Of course Trump is uniquely evil. Not like Obama,Bush2,Clinton,Bush1 etc or even May,Cameron,Blair or Thatcher.
Gerald I am no fan of any of them either but can’t remember them imposing unfounded travel bans on entire nations in their first weeks…or having the support of the far right..
Ralph. The bans Trump is imposing were enabled by laws passed under Obama. Where were the liberal complaints when these laws were passed? It seems it is OK to bomb muslims but not to stop them entering your country!! Of course I add the rider I am no fan of Trump but he is just the natural progression of US leadership. He is not unique and he is no more a Hitler(yawn) than those who preceded him in the job. They were all of course ably supported by their UK lap dog.
I get that this is a cartoon (sort of – cartoons usually involve drawing a picture) but the Fascism and Hitler thing is just lazy name-calling. Trump is certainly authoritarian, and is showing dangerously undemocratic tendencies, but harking back to the 30s misunderstands what he represents and the way he operates.
Yes indeedy. This post is memorable as the first ever to Godwin itself before any comment
When his supporters are encouraging kids to say “Heil Trump” and give Nazi salutes in school, and he picks a literal and self admitted fascist for his Supreme Court nomination, then I think we can safely call him a Fascist and a Nazi. If you do not think self admission of being a Fascist and encouraging children to emulate the actual Nazi Youths of Nazi Germany is enough to call him a Fascist and a Nazi, then where do you say the line is?
The worst part of Trump from a UK perspective is that he sucks all the focus from Terry May and her branch of junior fascists in their Brexit fever.
“A Donald Trump look-a-like has been banned from shopping at a Herefordshire branch of Waitrose.
‘When this gentleman visited our store on Saturday,’ said manager Bob Williams, ‘some of our shoppers complained to customer services. Security staff were called and he was ejected from the premises.’
‘I’d just settled down with my Guardian and cappuccino,’ said Liz Fernhill (56), ‘when this terrible Donald Trump figure appeared. I panicked. We get a lot of Muslims in here.’
Waitrose have apologised to local man Bert Robinson. ‘I’ve never even been to America,’ he said. ‘I’ve been wondering why people have been staring at me in the street.’
‘It was an understandable case of mistaken identity,’ Mr Williams said, on account of Mr Robinson’s hairdo. To avoid future problems, we’ve asked him not to visit us until he has it changed.’
Yesterday a woman resembling Sarah Palin was ejected from the frozen food section of the same store.”

More woe for President Gump:
