The monkeys, of course, see, hear and speak no evil but, sadly, being completely immersed in a virtual world does not guarantee the same thing for us. There is much that is good and worthwhile on-line but also every shade of nastiness. Those who never emerge for air in the ‘real world’ can easily get sucked into the wilder realms of untruth, spite and downright wickedness. Even if they remain in milder and uncontroversial parts of the electronic world it is very sad that such people miss out on experiencing – for example – the wonders of Spring unfolding about them.
Dearly Beloved Mrs Cobb often berates me for spending too long in front of this screen but as I point out to her I have seen the wonders of Spring unfold 93 times before and as it is inevitably followed by her pointed remarks about the length of that grass please forgive me if I can’t get too excited but anyway now the toothwort is out I’m feeling a bit more cheerful.
I hope you enjoy a good few more springs unfolding, Filbert! And as your posts here are invariably witty, challenging and interesting, I hope you don’t take Mrs Cobb’s strictures too much to heart!
