Whilst I’m not excusing a thumbs down for the post Wendy, it might be one of two options (or more), perhaps someone who felt they should be ‘rewarded’ or maybe someone who sees the system as one which needs reform? The gongs are for friends from friends, who you know etc.? The higher ranking ones nearly always to those in employed roles, commoners get the ‘phlebians’ (in the nice sense of the word) gong. These people generally give their time and efforts etc. gratis.

    After an election the PM is allowed to create more Lords, has that happened this time?

    But, regardless let’s celebrate that some involved in conservation have been recognised? It all helps raise the environments profile?
