Ok I’ll bite. As a committed atheist I can have a long rant about the damage that organised religion has done to people and the environment any time of day. But the link between a good environment and human wellbeing is both well recognised and bleedin’ obvious to everyone apart from policy makers and people in charge of budgets.
But if God botherers can help us save the world for humankind I’ll take whatever allies I can get – as Churchill said of Stalin, “If Hitler invaded Hell I would at least make a favourable reference to the Devil in the House of Commons.
After this day is done, will you share with us what your intention was? Hopefully it’s that this meeting is a small but good thing.
ps – speaking only from my own knowledge and personal experience, Judy Ling Wong is worth listening to any day.
