I’ve closed the questionnaire on Bird Fair speakers – watch this space. But one of the questions asked was ‘What was your favourite moment of the 2018 Bird Fair?’.
Here are lists of answers for men and women separately. I’ve tabulated the answers that scored more than one mention from each gender. This has to be slightly subjective because one is dealing with free text. Only respondents who attended this year were included (not surprisingly). Also note the number of respondents; Male (96), Female (81).

The social aspect of the Bird Fair comes out top in both lists – are there any consequences of this?
Many of the ‘main’ events in the Events Marquee are listed- especially debates and inspiring talks and speakers. Celebrity speakers are often mentioned as a, or the, favourite moment.
Nobody mentioned buying a holiday although buying new optics was mentioned. In fact, spending money in any way didn’t get many mentions.
I was glad to see birds getting a mention – Red-necked Phalarope and Osprey and the Ringing Demo.

Interesting how more men than women enjoyed seeing Chris Packham and debates came higher up the women’s list . Sad to see that the Wild Zone only got a mention from the women.
Anne – thank you for your first comment. Yes, that was quite interesting.
