Just finished “The Overstorey” Richard Powers – about our relationships with trees. Fictional and set in the USA. Did I see it recommended here? Can’t remember. More than well worth reading – a real eye opener and fantastic prose. Not necessarily an easy read though but gave me an new appreciation of trees and forests.
Twenty quid for that rebirding book, and £25 for the book “The Lynx and Us” too, this is why it is so hard getting people to notice the issue here in the UK. I can buy loads of titles of gamekeeper and farmer friendly propaganda for the price of just one of those books, and dump them on the supermarket bring and buy charity table. In fact my local supermarket often has “country” pursuits books on it. I struggle to find cheap books to leave on it to combat their propaganda. We’re losing the propaganda war in the conventional media arena. Can we not crowd fund a load of short books, and sell them at a loss just to spam these areas too?
Random22, I will send you a flyer so you get it for 30% off. Email me at [email protected]. Random 22, I wish I could sell it for less, and when paperbacks come out, they will be. Yes, books should be cheaper. But we also need to reimburse years of writing them and the 1000s of hours that takes. If you loathe ‘gamekeeper and farming friendly propaganda’ – BUY THIS BOOK. Best wishes, Ben
