A step in the right direction for the Seahorse Trust.
Yesterday the Seahorse Trust sought, and was granted, permission to bring judicial review proceedings. Permission was granted on all grounds following a 3 hour hearing at Court 46 of the Royal Courts of Justice.
There will now be a full 2-day substantive hearing in the Royal Courts of Justice later this year.
The grounds of the review essentially concern:
The system for approving oil drilling which does not comply with European Law in particular, publicity requirements, public consultation, environmental assessment and access to justice.
See April’s guest blog here by Neil Garrick-Maidment and thank you to all who donated, as I did, to help get the case this far.
