Sunday quotes (37)

A series of quotes relevant to the environment and/or campaigning.

This week’s quote is from Kenneth Grahame (died 1932)

The Mole had long wanted to make the acquaintance of the Badger. He seemed, by all accounts, to be such an important personage and, though rarely visible, to make his unseen influence felt by everybody about the place.

  1. Wasn’t badger the smart arse, no one listened too?

Toad, the middle class, highly impressionable and consumed with avarice?

Mole, gullible, an easy led disciple, inexperienced, sheepish?

I always thought there should have been a sheep in the book; “Tales from the arable field” sounds a good read.
If we are to use animal metaphors from books, then Orwell’s a better read.
But, I prefer a genius though.

“If the plan fails for the second time – then it’s time to abandon the plan for a new one”. – Einstein
