I am concerned by the sudden dissaperance of red kites in the chilterns.today I travelled from luton airport to princess risboro and back,i counted approx. 30 birds.most of these were in the risboro area.only 1 or2 as I came towards dunstable. usually there are double this number if not more.has anyone else noticed this or is it my imagination.
I can only comment about numbers at the Dunstable end of the Chilterns where numbers seem constant. Could if be that you only saw half the usual number of birds as females are sitting on eggs?
