Odd. I learned about the high death rate in the UK , the shortages of PPE and the participation by Dominic Cummings in SAGE…from the UK media. A quick on-line perusal of overseas media didn’t show up coverage of aspects of the UK’s covid-19 coverage that I wasn’t aware of.
Examples of critical coverage include (but certainly are not limited to) BBC Panorama’s investigation of PPE shortages, Sunday Times’ investigation of various shortcomings of government management of the crisis, including Boris Johnson’s failure to attend COBRA meetings, (widely discussed and reported in other media including the BBC), Guardian’s investigation of SAGE membership.
Likewise.
A bit wide of the mark this one.
There are no unbiased media sources and the UK media has been running about headless in the yard since March apparently busy but incapable of thought.
The ONS data may provide useful statistics but could be running a fortnight behind.
I’m not keen on keen on joining the herd for which I qualify because:
Old Geezer – check
Fat Bastard – check
CVD – check
T2 Diabetic – check
Covid 19 – check out
Massive thanks and a big well done to all involved in the labs and behind the logistics involved in getting this done
